HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
As my rates are occasionally adjusted please contact me to discuss my current fee. I offer a limited number of sliding scale appointments based on availability, and ability to pay. If you need a reduced fee, I encourage you to let me know. If I cannot accommodate your situation, I will assist you by making appropriate referrals.
WILL INSURANCE COVER THERAPY?
Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:
Do I have mental Health Benefits?
What is my deductable and has it been met?
How many sessions per year does my Insurance cover?
What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
Is approval required from a primary care physician?
I am happy to provide all the documentation for clients to obtain reimbursement. We can talk about your insurance questions when you phone.
I'D LIKE TO KEEP THIS PRIVATE.
WHO WILL KNOW ABOUT THE SESSIONS?
Sessions are confidential. What is said in therapy stays between the client and therapist. This is one of the things that make therapy a safe place to discuss any issue. There are a few exceptions to this rule as required by law (e.g., If a client poses a danger to self or others, in situations of child or elder abuse). We will discuss these details in the first session.
WHAT ABOUT MEDICATIONS?
While it has been shown that medications alone are not as effective as psychotherapy, or as medication and psychotherapy together, sometime in the course of your treatment medication might be an option you wish to explore. In that case I can recommend a psychiatrist with whom we will collaborate with during the process. If you are currently under a doctor's care, we will discuss the best way to coordinate services.
